I was checking out homes in the south Florida area. They all have pools and I don’t want a pool. It got me thinking: How cool would it be to turn your pool into a crazy Greenhouse farm? After a quick search on Google I found out this idea has been executed already. Over on GardenPool.org you can read all about it.

Here is how they sum it up:

The Garden Pool was a large run-down pool that is now a closed-loop food production system using aquaponics and is powered by solar energy. The GP was designed to feed a family of four with organic eggs, fruit, veggies, herbs, and fish 365 days a year while using 90% less water than conventional farming methods.

Here is a video about it. We can cut them a break on the echo…they made a freaking pool garden.
